36″: metal is cheaper
From 36″ up, 16 gauge galvanized metal comes in under HDPE per stick. HDPE still wins where rust is the worry.
Over 60″: metal only
HDPE stops at 60″. Metal goes to 96″ round, and arch where cover is shallow.
